A podcast about Free Will

September 28th, 2006

Yesterday I had a chat with a couple of friends about, among other things, free will. If you’re interested, check out the podcast here.

If you are new to The Advaita Show…

September 7th, 2006

I’m sorry you missed the party. We had fun. But if you’re just discovering the show, you need to start at the beginning. Here’s a link to the first episode. If you start there and work your way forwards, you’ll see the same questions and the same themes emerging over and over. So then, by the time you get to the end, you’ll understand why I’m laughing most of the time at the questions. It wasn’t because I’m insensitive (necessarily) but because the questions had been answered over and over and I thought it was extremely funny that we kept getting asked the same stuff.

Anyway… I hope you enjoy the show.

the future of The Advaita Show

September 7th, 2006

Just an update folks. I spoke to Bob for the first time in four months yesterday and asked him if he was interested in starting the show again. He said something like “It’s just the same questions from the same people over and over again.” So I guess that’s a no. You can always go over to his site and buy the recording of his weekly sessions on CD. We might do a some kind of special monthly show or something. I don’t know. I might even do the show by myself and impersonate Bob’s voice, kind of like the way the US government has someone pretend to be bin Laden on those videos that come out every time they was to scare us all again…. all I’d need to do is say “Who’s asking the question?” and I doubt any of you would be able to tell the difference. Come to think of it, I could just splice in recordings of his voice from previous shows. Hmmm… I can see this turning into a very long franchise. :-)

A new place to ask questions

July 15th, 2006

I’m starting to miss the show, so I thought I’d throw up a new forum for people to leave questions. If it looks like we’re getting enough interesting ones, I’ll see if Bob wants to put together the team for another episode.

Go to the forum.

The Advaita Show #027 - The Very Last Show

Well it was fun while it lasted but I think the general consensus today was that this show has run dry. There’s nothing left to say. No questions left to ask. No new answers left to give you. Nothing new to say that Bob hasn’t said ad infinitum over the last 27 shows. So thanks for tuning in over the last 6 months and for playing The Advaita Game ™.

Let me summarize what we have learned from his Bobness…
Find out who is asking the question and the questions will disappear.

You are already that which you seek.

Thank you and goodnight.

Short and to the point today. Bob was on a caffeine high, came out of the gates swinging, and I wanted to preserve the moment, so I pulled the plug early on. I think this is the best show we’ve done and suggest you listen to it over and over.

Okay, we’re back with the spaghetti. Answering your questions this week is Bobananda in fine form, with his trusty sidekick Eliot the Brave.
The atmospheric Japanese zen flute is from a track called Yamato Choshi by the artist Tilopa from his album Kyotaku Live, available from Magnatune Records.

Questions for next week!

March 30th, 2006

OK, I’m rested, his guruness is rested, so I think we might do a show next week. So please leave QUESTIONS ONLY as comments to this post and we’ll tackle them next week!

Well it looks like the show is running aground. This week there are no guests, no more questions, and I’m thinking it’s perhaps time to take a month off. Whaddya think?!
