Bert, another example - a friend of mine was telling me earlier today how she had a craving for avocado. She later learned that this craving is a symptom of a medical condition she had. We are our chemistry.

Cameron, I really liked your comment about tracing a thought back to its source as a way of trying to make clear that there is no actual "thinker" that is in charge and doing something.

Thirty-eight years ago I was momentarily brought to silence when I wrestled with just notion that after reading William James. He was discussing how one "plants" requests for mental solutions and then awaits the answer to arise without any additional effort. Although I could not state it at the time as clearly as you did on this podcast, I wondered what this implied about the "thinker" being in charge not only of something creative, but of anything at all. I was stumped and fell into silence as I pondered this puzzle. It "makes sense" now, if it can be put that way.

Thank you! :)

Hi. Great show. When Fred mentioned that, after searching the Internet he found maybe six teachers he could trust, one of which was Bob, who are the other five?

If you're looking for topics for a future show, maybe you could talk about the negativity that seems to be floating around the Advaita traps, where one teacher makes disparaging remarks about the teaching of others, for example, Tony Parsons' comments about Eckhart Tolle and other teachers.

Anyhow, I look forward to your next show.

Hi. What a great find. I too have been doing podcasts on advaita vedanta. This medium really makes the room for discussion much bigger. I look forward to more exchange.

Oops, second part was moved and included in part one. I hope, there will appear someone, who will come with some questions for Bob, as we have informed people on our czech webblog, that, they can use this chance to have their doubts cleared in your Advaita show. Thank you.. http://www.bloguje.cz/blogy/mozaika/188415_item.php
